Scarborough Sixth Form College
(Part time, permanent)
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and committed individual to join the College’s Estates Team to carry out caretaking duties and assist with the management of the College Estate.
As part of the Estates team, you will report to the Site Manager, assisting with the effective and efficient management of the College estate.
A key aspect to this new role is to supervise the evening and occasionally weekend use of the College facilities, including securing the building at the end of the day and oversight of the in-house cleaning service.
You will need to have the technical skills to be able to carry out minor repairs and maintenance, along with the practical skills to carry out a variety of manual tasks (e.g. assisting with cleaning, portering, and setting out rooms). A good awareness of health, safety, security and hygiene issues is important.
Good organisational and administrative skills are essential, to ensure that regular activities and checks are carried out on time, whilst balancing the flexibility and responsiveness needed in this kind of varied and practical role.
The successful candidate will be appointed to Scale Point 6 of the College’s support staff pay spine, currently £19,719 p.a. for full time.
The contract will be for 32 hours per week, on a permanent basis, starting as soon as the successful candidate is available following safeguarding checks.
This is a new role and working times need to be flexible to accommodate the needs of the College and the working times of other team members. Actual working hours will be discussed at interview stage.
