KS2 Class Teacher - Egton CE VA Primary School, Whitby

MPS (M1 – M6)

September 2020 start

‘Learning and Growing Together with God’

Trust, Friendship and Respect are the Christian values that underpin our school community. Life at Egton C of E Primary is like being part of a caring, happy family, made special by our amazing children (52 on roll) who make all our staff proud to work here.

We are situated on the outskirts of Whitby, in the village of Egton, and our catchment area takes from within the local villages as well as from the Whitby area. Our staff travel not just locally, but from Scarborough and Pickering.

Our village school has a happy family feel, and as a popular primary school within the Whitby locality, we have managed to grow and retain our teaching and support staff over the years.

Our partnership with our local primary colleagues as part of the Esk Valley Teaching Alliance has brought further clarity and best practice opportunities to our school, as well as our staff accessing CPD and professional qualifications through the Coastal Opportunity Area.

Our opportunity

As a result of an early retirement opportunity, we are looking to appoint a teaching professional to join us in our mixed KS2 class. You would be joining a hard-working and dedicated team of colleagues, working in the Esk Valley Alliance Lead School for Initial Teacher Training.

The post is for a September 2020 start.

We are looking for:

  • Skilled professional who has an engaging and dynamic style of teaching within KS2.
  • Someone who has the enthusiasm, drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, and are enabled to live life to the full
  • A teacher with a flair and passion for primary education who will embrace working and teaching in our school.
  • An outstanding practitioner, who is able share their skills and excellent practice with aspiring teachers

We can offer you:

  • Enthusiastic children, who respect and care for others, have a thirst for learning new things and a staff culture which allows new members to thrive and develop.
  • Opportunities to further develop your craft and a leadership team that will support you and your career aspirations.
  • Opportunities to work collaboratively across our partner schools

Join us and build a wonderful career in a school you are passionate about. Please contact James on the details below.

We strongly recommend that you visit us so that we can share with you why we are so proud of our school, and you will get a chance to see what we have to offer.

We are part of the North Yorkshire Opportunity Area that is prioritising improvements to education and numeracy and literacy outcomes, alongside a drive to recruit and retain high-quality, motivated teachers to the area. Teachers on the North Yorkshire Coast will have unique opportunities to engage in additional professional and leadership development through this programme, as well as access to fully-funded national professional qualifications.

The date of commencement for this post will be September 2020.

Closing date: 28th February 2020

Interviews will be held 10th March 2020
